As you can see by the,sign this train is crossing 8th street. I did a little research and Google earth-ing, and found that this crossing was very recently protected by a rather interesting and rare pair of flashers, but as sien here, the gates are down and its long gone, and the trilights appear to be new as well. Nice video i found showing the old crossing for those interested: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oiia-V4sSRk ..(while the replacement is not something thats gonna make any railfan happy, it is MORE than understandable why it was replaced with safer equipment, judging alone by the very high volume of rail traffic ,a very good thing for railfans looking at the bright side). |
